A friend of mine, Don Robinson was able to go to the Burning Man years ago in the Nevada desert. While its a celebration of humanity it is also criticized for being more of the side of the depravity of humanity. This however is not all that its about. Some will go for the good things others for ways to indulge in things they shouldn’t.
One of the most talked about sculptures was on display there for several years. It was called “Inner Child” by Alexander Milov. It was a large creation that showed 2 adults apposed to each other but the inner child in both of them was trying to come together with the other. It is a very powerful statement about what all of us go through with people we love sometimes. While we are fighting or against each other outwardly there is a powerful force within us that wants reconciliation of some kind but does not know how to achieve it the right way.

With all the people going through relationship problems lately I was thinking a lot about that sculpture. I know from what some relayed to me that they wish they could start over again and just get rid of what is causing the problem. Sadly some problems are too much to just say we can move on from. Some take a long time to heal between the people involved. Some cannot be healed in this life.
Many years ago we had a message about broken relationships. One of the key points is that we live in a fallen world. It was fallen because Adam and Eve went against God setting the beginning of what would be many millenium of fallen relationships. The only way to deal with this fallen state is to try the live as Godly as we can even in a fallen state. While it may not heal every relationship in this life, or for that matter most of them, it gives us the vision to long for a time when they will be healed. That is when His Kingdom appears on Earth.
He gives us a promise, not only once but twice in the Bible:
Isaiah 25:8
He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
Then again he reminds us of this in Revelation as this world is coming to an end:
Revelation 21:4
4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Eventually we will see an end to this fallen state and all things will be restored through Jesus Christ. In the mean time we must do the best we can as Christians to work with the relationships we have as we a re able to in Him.
Have a great Sabbath!
Your brother in Christ,
Steve Koenig
