The Feast of Trumpets
If you are like me we have been celebrating the feast of Trumpets all my life being born in the church. In some ways like Pentecost it seems like an unnatural pause in a busy week. Like the other Holy Days it carries high significance.
The historical belief is that Adam was born on this day in the beginning touching off the dawn of man. And Like before we see that the significance has been very symbolic of another dawn of a new world found in Zechariah:
Zechariah 9:14-16 The LORD Will Appear
14 Then the LORD will appear over them; his arrow will flash like lightning. The Sovereign LORD will sound the trumpet; he will march in the storms of the south,
15 and the LORD Almighty will shield them. They will destroy and overcome with slingstones. They will drink and roar as with wine; they will be full like a bowl used for sprinkling the corners of the altar.
16 The LORD their God will save his people on that day as a shepherd saves his flock. They will sparkle in his land like jewels in a crown.
Trumpets symbolizes the binding of Satan and the establishment of the rule of Jesus Christ here on Earth. Replacing Satan as the world ruler with righteous rule directly from God.
As we see with the world lately this future even is something we should look forward to more and more with our hearts and minds. It may seem that the world has never been at a worse state but we see in scripture it can and will get worse than what we see even now. The tribulation as the Book of Revelation points out will be the worst state of the world ever.
Fortunately we have this Holy Day to remind us of the time of his second coming. A time the whole world will see and a time we should be looking forward to always.
This Holy Day reminds us of that event and reminds us to prepare as a people for it. It’s not something that should be on our minds and hearts one day a year but every day. Regardless whether he comes to the world during our lives now he will return in our lives either the way this holy Day depicts or when we leave this life and enter into his presence.
In the time we have make sure as his elect to get to know him, every possible way. Understand the love and mercy he has for you and the plan he has for you in the establishment of His Kingdom.
Have a great Holy Day time ahead!
Your friend in Christ,
Steve Koenig
