Almost the end but still just the beginning

This week was high on the Christian calendar for a number of reasons. All of them having to do with Jesus Christ. We observed the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread while larger denominations observe Holy Week leading into the Easter observance. All of them have bearing on the death and resurrection of our Savior and King.

It was interesting and inspiring to see a lot of dedication by Christians in ways I never thought I would see. A friend who is the pastor of a small church down south kept the Night To Be Much Observed for the first time. Others observed that this past Friday was Passover and while typically referred to as Passion week several people referred to the week as Passover week. Many Pastors have been heavily emphasizing appropriately what Christ did to free us from the bondage of sin.

While we look to the past as our kind has done for many centuries sometimes we can forget to see where this is all going, and what lies ahead. We do not keep the focus that this is all temporary, a world passing away. The Kingdom of God replaces it in the end and for eternity. All these beliefs and observances for the Children of God are in preparation for us to inherit this Kingdom in full.

In a world that seems to get worse with each passing day it is a great comfort to us to know that it does not end here. We have to go through life, endure tribulations and trials but this will all be gone in a future time. In short, we win in the end.

Take time in the remaining days of these observances to remember that it does not end here, it is the beginning of a road to His Kingdom. Remember that as his children, even now we are considered as such and are blessed with his presence in our life. This presence is like a wealthy father who cares deeply for his Children, preparing them to take over the family business with all the greatness it has in store for us.

Romans 8:18 says, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

Remember this no matter what is happening around you and how bad this world can get. The world does not last but God does.
