The 2 True loves

Most of the world whether, they acknowledge it or not, hates God. Most people may not come out openly and say they do. Some will even deny they do, but their actions and the way they live their lives betrays their words they say of what they even lie to themselves about the issue. Many will cling to false beliefs and doctrines and in doing so create their own god away from the true nature of the real and only God. Because of this they never really get to know Him and put themselves away from having a relationship with Him.

To understand what that relationship looks like we have to go back to what His Son Jesus Christ told the Pharisees of the day which are the greatest commandments.

Matthew 26 Sums up the entirety of what mankind was told to do:

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

A good number of people do not realize that the 10 commandments are actually split in 2 sets of 5. 5 concerning Loving your God and the other 5 are about loving your neighbor. As Jesus Christ shows us all the law hands on both aspects of love.

While those in the Christian religion understand that we are in a fallen relationship with God because of what Adam and Eve did in the garden, we are also in a fallen state with each other as human beings. That is why we have the problems in the world today that we do. Christianity is a path to restore this relationship in this world. By living according to the law in this way now by exercising these commandments we can live a close relationship with our God and each other too.

In Christ always,
