What God hates

In the news over the past couple years there have been several cases of murder that have gone to trial. Some of these cases have led to convictions while at least one is still in deliberation as I write. When the verdict of guilty was reached in some earlier cases it would seem that most people would accept that there was enough evidence of the crime to warrant the decision. In these cases, there was overwhelming evidence to convict the person. Still the criminal and their families have raised thousands of dollars from a sympathetic public who still refuses to see them pay for their crimes.

The current case is the most horrific involving the strangulation of three children by their mother. Although there is overwhelming evidence of the crime the defendant Lindsay Clancy pleaded not guilty by reason of not being criminally responsible. To her defense she was dealing with several issues including over medication and mental illness. As of the time of this writing the jury was deadlocked in making a decision. There also has been public outcry that supports her over the death of her being released and found not guilty. Though the blood of her children cries out from the grave.

Although it seems more and more, we hear of cases like this now, they are not unique to this time. Many people over the years have committed crimes and were never punished for them. Often being released on a technicality rather than the evidence that proved their guilt. In some cases, the crime was attributed to outside forces acting on the individual. Keep in mind however that we as human beings are responsible for our actions.

One thing we have to remember is that this world has its form of perverted justice and God has his righteous justice. God knows everything we do and the motivation behind it. There is nothing hidden from Him. To understand what awaits those who are guilty in the end we can go to the book of Proverbs to see a list of the very things God hates:

Proverbs 6: 16-19

There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

God hates all sin, so much that His son died so that believers can be free of it. These seven things that God hates puts this behavior in a special light of scrutiny with Him. When God hates something, he will use all His power to remove it. Those who do these things, He will work against them.

This world may release a person who is guilty but, in the end, they still have to face Jesus Christ in Judgement. That judgment will weigh all the deeds done in the flesh whether good or bad. They will also be measured to His law and truth. Being He is righteous; the guilty will not go unpunished.

On the other hand even sins like murder can be forgiven through true repentance. It does not mean that you will not suffer for the sins you commit but they will be wiped from your record by God Himself.
